Part 2 of the Federation campaign picks up three years after the end of the One Year War in UC 0083. As before, a slideshow-style cutscene sets the stage for the new conflict.

Universal Century 0080
The horrific massacre that would later be called the One Year War came to an end.
Humanity finally regained peace.

However, with the end of the war, the conflict between the Earth Federation Government and the Principality of Zeon came to mean one between those who live on Earth and those who live in space.
This war marked a major turning point in history.

Ending this war for the sake of the next, building for the sake of destruction.

This moment of peace was merely a respite before new chaos arrived.

Will this foolish act, which has continued unabated since the beginning of history, continue as long as humanity exists?
Will it be the flames of battle, not the hopes of people, that light up the darkness of the distant universe?

Could the emergence of a new innovation of humanity, the Newtype, become a ray of light for these times?
Contrary to people’s desire for peace, the battle begins an unexpected second act.

After conquering Side 3 and winning the war, the Earth Federation dismantles the Principality of Zeon.

The leaders of the Principality of Zeon were tried and executed as war criminals.

The first space colony nation in human history was thus destroyed.

However, this action by the Federation Government united the surviving Zeon soldiers and intensified the resistance movement against Federation rule.

Meanwhile, the Federation Government did not take any concrete measures against these actions of the Zeon soldiers.
They were only focused on the post-war reconstruction of Earth.

Taking advantage of the Federation’s negligence, the remnants of the Zeon forces begin to make their move.

The Delaz Fleet, led by former imperial guard captain Aiguille Delaz, declares war on the Federation.

Furthermore, the largest force of the Zeon remnants, Axis, has also begun moving towards the Earth Sphere.

Will the Federation Army led by Revil be able to defeat the resurrected ghosts of Zeon once again?

EFF Officer: The Delaz Fleet has begun full-scale military operations, and the Space Fortress Axis has declared war. Furthermore, Zeon remnants from all around have responded by taking action!

Revil: Well, I expected something to happen when the government officials decided to execute Gihren, but… I didn’t foresee Axis joining the battle.
EFF Officer: Yes, we couldn’t have predicted that Axis, which has been on the sidelines since the war, would make a move, but there is still time before it reaches the Earth Sphere.
Revil: No, we can’t let our guard down. Axis’ premature declaration of war and their delayed arrival at the Earth Sphere were deliberate, in order to cause chaos in the Earth Sphere…
EFF Officer: Are you saying there is still something yet to come?
Revil: Indeed, someone will surely take advantage of this chaos to realize their own ambitions!
This battle won’t end just by defeating Axis…
As is told the intro, the first half of Part 2 revolves around the events of the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Just like with the One Year War in Part 1, it will be up to us to either follow or diverge from the events in canon.
First, let’s check out the new map and what happened to our forces.

Assistant: Reporting that the space colonies destroyed by Zeon have been rebuilt by the Colony Corporation. The reconstruction is not yet complete, but it is possible to use them as military bases.

This comment refers to the fact that many of the Sides that were only normal areas before have now been upgraded to bases.

Promotions to pilots and commanders happen automatically in this game, and following the One Year War quite a few characters received them: Ryu, Sayla, Yuu, and Job John.

Unfortunately, 3 out of the 4 are no longer in our forces anymore, as only Bright and Sleggar remain from the White Base crew.
On the flip side, we gain some new pilots too, including some future Titans members.

The events of this campaign begin with the proposal of the Gundam Development Plan.

EFF Officer: General Cowen has proposed the “Gundam Development Plan.” If the Gundam, which showed overwhelming performance during the One Year War, is upgraded as a more powerful machine, our army’s victory will be assured. Please consider allocating the budget.
Accepting this proposal will allow us to eventually construct Gundams GP01, GP02A, and GP03. However, the order and timing we do so will be important, as we will see.

EFF Officer: The development department has submitted the basic outline of the Gundam Development Plan. We aim to create the strongest MS by developing three units with different concepts. Please wait for the report from the development department.
Meanwhile, we begin by retaking the Delaz Fleet’s small amount of territory on Earth.

Jerid: Lila, next time we meet, why don’t we have a drink together?
Lila: I’ll consider it… If you become a good man, I can lean on you and drink, that would be nice…

Jerid: Yazan, you bastard! Why do you always try to act on your own?
Yazan: I can’t stand being with a guy who has cheated death as much as you!!
Jerid: I’ll have you locked up for treason!!
Yazan: Quit yapping so much!

Kacricon: Jerid! Won’t you join my plan? It’s a time-lag attack where two units appear as one!
Jerid: Kacricon, as long as you’re here, I can perform better than ever. I’m on board with that plan!!
As for the Gundam Development Plan, we chose to construct GP01 and GP03, but not GP02A quite yet.

After a short time, we are also given the option to recruit more pilots too.

EFF Officer: General Revil, there is a shortage of pilots on the front lines. To solve this problem, should we convert the test pilots in the development department into regular pilots? Please consider the “Test Pilot Recruitment Plan.”
Activating this plan will allow both Kou and Chuck to join us.

Assistant: Reporting that we have recruited test pilots Kou Uraki and Chuck Keith, both graduates of the Nijmegen Military Academy, as regular pilots.

Chuck: …Oh, how sad! This is a battlefield, full of scruffy men. Hey Kou! If you know a cute girl, introduce her to me!
Kou: I-I don’t know… If you have so much free time, help me with the maintenance.
Chuck: Yeah, yeah… I shouldn’t have asked… There’s no way a man who can’t even eat carrots would know anything about girls…
Because we completed GP03 and our law alignment is sufficiently high, Anaheim offers us the blueprints of GP04G Gundam “Gerbera”.

Assistant: Message incoming for General Revil. I’ll connect you.

Anaheim Electronics Rep: General Revil, the Gundam development project was scheduled to end with the completion of the Prototype Unit 3. However, the research results obtained during this project made it possible to design the “Prototype Unit 4.” I will be handing these blueprints over to you.

(The GP04G Gundam Gerbera was never actually completed in canon, and its frame was repurposed for the Gerbera Tetra)
Up next is a key event in the story – the fleet review and stolen GP02.

EFF Officer: General Green Wyatt has proposed a fleet review. Holding a ceremony with the main fleet would boost the morale of our soldiers. Please consider allocating the budget.
As the officer states, the fleet review will provide a big boost to the morale of all of our troops. This takes a total of ten turns to complete. However, in order for it to succeed, we need to ensure the timing does not match the events in canon.

EFF Officer: It’s an emergency! The second prototype of the Gundam development project, the “Physalis”, has been stolen by someone. This unit is equipped with nuclear armaments, so we must get it back as soon as possible. We are going to have Captain Sinapus and Burning’s MS team give chase. Please give your permission.
[Choice: YES]
EFF Officer: Understood, we are commencing the operation to recapture Prototype Unit 2. Please wait for good news.

EFF Officer: Reporting! The Sinapus Squad engaged in combat with the stolen Prototype Unit 2 and identified the enemy’s true identity. The enemy who stole Prototype Unit 2 is Anavel Gato, the “Nightmare of Solomon”. We have ordered the Sinapus Squad to continue the pursuit, but the enemy has the upper hand. Please prepare for the worst case scenario.

These events trigger as soon as GP02 development is complete. In the OVA, Gato fires upon the Federation’s fleet review with the GP02’s nuclear weapon. As we have the gift of hindsight, it’s easy to prevent this by delaying the construction of this unit, thus giving the fleet review a head start.
In the interim, all we can do is wait for events to finish, as updates continue to come in about the pursuit.

EFF Officer: General Revil, Sinapus Squad has lost sight of Prototype Unit 2. There is a possibility that the enemy may use a nuclear weapon. All we can do is pray for Sinapus Squad’s success.
Eventually all goes well, and the fleet review complete!

EFF Officer: Reporting that the fleet review has greatly improved the soldiers’ morale. It was a success!
However, Gato is not deterred, and quickly changes his target.

EFF Officer: General Revil! The sudden appearance of the Gundam Prototype Unit 2 at Jaburo resulted in a nuclear attack that destroyed about 30% of the Jaburo defense force! At least there was no damage to the underground facilities.
As with the final colony drop in Part 1, stationing none or very little forces there can prevent or mitigate the damage significantly.
Meanwhile, a familiar face from Zeta Gundam contacts us with a proposal to expand the research of Cyber Newtypes.

Assistant: Reporting that Jamitov Hymen has formed an organization called the “Titans” with the goal of hunting spacenoids. The government has acknowledged the existence of the Titans and announced a policy of supporting their activities.

Jamitov: General Revil, the military use of Newtypes has become indispensable in the current war. I propose the establishment of an NT [Newtype] research facility, the Augusta Research Lab.
Jamitov: General Revil, we should expand the scale of the NT Research Institute and conduct more serious research. I propose the establishment of an NT research facility, the Murasame Research Lab.
(Both of these conversations occur back-to-back, as each has a separate plan you must activate)
Choosing to establish the Augusta Lab will allow for the recruitment of Rosamia Badam, and the Murasame Lab for Four Murasame.
Following the establishment of the Titans, the AEUG has now formed as well. How we choose to interact with these two factions will determine how the story plays out in the second half of Part 2.

Assistant: Reporting that Blex Forer has formed the AEUG to oppose the Titans, and our information indicates that they will soon be launching a large-scale military operation.

Revil: Titans and AEUG… Did the weakness of the Federation Government give birth to these two powers?
In an attempt to land a decisive blow against the Federation, the Delaz Fleet begins to stage a colony drop operation targeting Jaburo.

EFF Officer: There’s been an emergency! The forces that stole the Gundam Unit 2 have launched a colony drop! We are still unsure of when it will reach the drop point or the size of the enemy forces. Please wait for a detailed report.

EFF Officer: General Revil! The target of the colony drop has been confirmed! The enemy’s target is Jaburo! The defense forces above Earth alone will not be able to stop the colony drop!

EFF Officer: General, the Sinapus Squad should be nearby. We’re ordering them to cooperate with the defense forces and thwart the colony drop. In order to reliably stop the colony drop, should we allow the Sinapus Squad to use the recently completed “Prototype Unit 3”?
[Choice: YES]
EFF Officer: Yes, the combat power of the Prototype Unit 3 is equivalent to an entire battalion, so we should be able to stop the colony drop without a doubt.
This is the Dendrobium, a combination of GP03S Gundam “Stamen” and the armed base “Orchis”. If permission is not given, Kou will still end up stealing the unit anyway.

This event also makes pilots from the Sinapus team temporarily unavailable as they are now on a mission.

Assistant: We have a call coming in from someone calling themselves Cima. I’ll connect you.

Cima: Nice to meet you. General Revil, if you could provide a little bit of funding, I could help you prevent the colony drop.
[Choice: YES]
Cima: As expected of the Supreme Commander of the Federation Forces! The deal is done. Allow me to assist you.
In exchange for 30,000 in funds and a slight hit to alignment, Cima along with pilots Deatroaf Kocsel and Kult will join.

EFF Officer: General Revil, as planned, the Cima Fleet has defected to our forces. We have ordered them to cooperate with the defense forces and prevent the colony drop.

EFF Officer: Reporting that the defense forces will soon make contact with the target colony and begin combat with the enemy forces.
[If all appropriate conditions are met]
EFF Officer: The defense forces have successfully thwarted the colony drop.

Revil: Well, it looks like we’ve managed to avoid the worst…
The enemy is desperate too… It appears we need to end this war as soon as possible.

EFF Officer: Reporting that Captain Sinapus and the Burning squad have completed their mission, and we are ordering a return to normal operations.
The only drawback of this result is that the Dendrobium unit is destroyed and its pilot is injured. However, unlike in canon, Kou is not punished for his actions and instead remains a pilot in our forces from now on.
Meanwhile, the prelude to the Gryps Conflict is heating up…

Assistant: General Revil! The Titans… They used G3 gas on the “30 Bunch Colony” at Side 1. All of the colony residents were killed. On the day of the incident, an anti-Titans rally was apparently being held there.

Assistant: Reporting that since the 30 Bunch incident, the AEUG has become more active than ever. We have also received information that this incident prompted many former members of the White Base to join the AEUG.
(These former members are Bright and Sleggar)

Assistant: Incoming call from AEUG representative Blex Forer. I’ll connect you.

Blex: General Revil, someone like you… should be aware of the danger of the Titans. Can you forgive the 30 Bunch incident? If we leave things as they are, the Titans will grow even more arrogant and bring the world to ruin. We want you to fight alongside us to save the world. Please let me know your thoughts, General.
[Choice: YES]
Blex: Thank you. The AEUG promises to cooperate with the Federation Forces. Until then, please be careful not to let the Titans find out about this.
Choosing Yes here while having over 50% law alignment once the Gryps conflict begins will automatically ally the Federation with the AEUG. Conversely, a more chaotic alignment will ally the Federation with the Titans.
Speaking of the Titans…

Assistant: General Revil, Paptimus Scirocco has returned from Jupiter.

Scirocco: It’s a pleasure to meet you. It’s too great an honor to fight under General Revil, who was hailed as a hero in the past war. I pledge my loyalty to the General with my life, and I will definitely live up to your expectations.
Since we have beaten the game before, Scirocco also provides blueprints for his signature mobile suit, The O.

Oddly enough, if he is recruited in this way, Scirocco will remain loyal to the Federation for the remainder of the campaign, even after the Titans become our enemy.
All that remains now is to capture the rest of the Delaz Fleet’s territory.

Four: I’m Four Murasame from the Murasame Laboratory.
Zero: Four… Murasame… you say? Hey, do you still have memories of your past?
Four: As for my memories, the lab has them. Why do you ask?
Zero: I see… So my memories were stolen by the laboratory…

Zero: Who are you?! Why do you have the same powers as me…?
Rosamia: I’m Rosamia Badham of the Augusta Lab. Who are you?
Zero: Zero… Murasame! You haven’t even been given an official number. What a failure!
Don’t drag me down!

Four: Were you created to torment me?! Ahhhh… my head feels like it’s going to explode…
Rosamia: What is this unpleasant feeling? Help me, big brother!
(Rosamia and Four are currently in their EFF attire, but will defect and change once the Titans are an enemy faction)
The final battle is at the Delaz Fleet’s main base, the Garden of Thorns.

Revil: Our forces will now begin the assault on the Delaz Fleet’s home base, the Garden of Thorns! Even now after the destruction of Zeon, the Delaz Fleet continues to fight for Gihren Zabi. We will defeat them and bring peace to the Earth Sphere! I look forward to your efforts!

Scirocco: Hahahaha, just as I predicted… The fortune of the times is on our side…

Kou: [when in battle against a Zaku I] Wow… MS-05, mankind’s first mobile suit…
I don’t want to damage it if I can help it, but this is war! Please forgive me!
